ALL ARE WELCOME
If you can't make it to either service, here is a National Day of Prayer - Personal Prayer Guide for your use.
Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favor and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought hither out of many kindred and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, we may show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail; all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Taken from the 1928 (American) version of the "Book of Common Prayer"
After you have prayed for our Nation you might pray for:
Our State Government Leaders
Our Local Community Government Leaders
Our Church and Church Family (especially those on our prayer list)
Your own family
The scientists and doctors looking for cures for diseases
Our Military men and women and their families
For good weather for farmers so that the growing season will be fruitful
For the poor and those in need of the material blessings of life
Give thanks for your many blessings and ask forgiveness for your sins
Ask God’s help to be a better Christian
And you should close your prayer with the Lord’s Prayer.
Thank you for taking part in this year’s NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER.
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalms 118:24),
